MPC doesn't do anything like its supposed to

Post by fresh-produce »

I'm trying to figure out how to use my friends mpc 1000 with the free jjos operating system. Not a single basic function on this piece of shit works. Samples won't save. Sequences only play back sounds half of the time. This is the buggiest piece of garbage I have ever used in my life.

your buddy might have added the free jjos then tried to update to jjos1 which doesnt allow saving unless you pay for it. It probably cans a ton of other feathres like double sequences n shit like that but that might be the issue. I usually get the jjos demo first then i pay and get the code and without the code saving is disabled. there is a way to revert it back to the original akai os, might have to google search the jjos site to figure it out.

As far as the sequencer issue, im not sure about that one, ive had 2 mpc 1000's in the past and one right now and none have had any sequencer issues.

hope it works out for you

and just to bump jjos, its fucking amazing, when you realize all the shit akai didnt put in and the jjos dude did, you'd be amazed. im sure its probably jjos1 in there without a paid code. figure out how to just get back to the jjos free version and just that allows chopping better than the akai os and some grid sequencing shit that pays for itself. I have the jjos 2 which uses audio tracks like a DAW and its worth the money. I record into it and look like a mother fucker, then seuqence drums. Great for recording synths, getting a good loop, then resampling it and chopping the fuck out of it.
Sorry, just had to pump jjos, its really good.

sounds like user error, the mpc is a totally different beast, not pick up and play like the sp's, when saving did you make sure to scroll to the save option of 'save entire memory' this saves all of the samples programs and sequencers in one go. spring waters right im using jjos 2 too and its insane! one of its functions is called a non destructive chop which lets you set a bunch of different start and end points for each pad using only one copy of the sample to reference to.
