Recording whilst playing a pattern

yo, i was wondering if someone could tell me how to record audio into a 404 whilst a pattern is already playing?

for example, if i started to record a pattern and then wanted to record some guitar over the top so that the guitar would continue to loop with the pattern how would i go about doing this?

any kind of help would be much appreciated

this topic is well covered in the forums. Very well covered. There is no way at all to record while in Pattern mode. You must use an external device to play the Pattern and add something to it creating a mix on the external device. Alternately you can record the pattern externally then as you play it back record onto a Pad in the 404.
