is it possible to record into an Sp404 straight from a synth?
im considering buying an sp404 for my band so we can add extra samples etc into our songs - not really to use it as a drum machine but just record into it and playback live.
is this the right sampler for us or if not, anyone got any suggestions?

you can record in from anything

a synth can be plugged into the RCAs on the back, or through a lead into the Mic Input

you can put an effect onto the synth as you record in

you can trigger your synth patterns in pattern mode, or just by hitting the pads

i reckon the hands-on nature of the 404 and the lack of menus etc makes it ideal for use in a band. you just gotta reach over and tap a pad to add another texture, and if you have your hands free at some point you can tweak effects on the samples
