Syncing with BPM

Post by jje2105 »

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting an SP-404SX, and I'm wondering: does it sync samples with the same BPM? It is my impression that the SP-303 does this--two samples at the same BPM will play in sync pretty much indefinitely, while the SP-555 does not do this, the samples will go off of each other rather quickly, even at the same tempo. So does the SP-404SX stay synced up? Thanks!

none of the SPs do this to my knowledge if you just have them set to loop (definitely not the 303 or 404), but there are a few options you can try

you can put em in the pattern sequencer which will retrigger them at the same time every go around, and as long as they are placed correctly with regards to each other they will loop in sync (you wouldn't want to have the loop function on for either pad, the pattern sequencer is doing that work buy retriggering it everytime it plays through)

or you can just loop one and trigger the other one on your own each time around (or trigger them both live every time through if that's what works), and then you could even resample that process and mark out a section where the loops sound perfectly in sync and loop that up, then if you want to drop one out just turn off the resampled pad of the loops together and trigger the single one you want to play at the right time

very seldomly can you let two pads just loop and have them stay in sync for more than 30 seconds or so
