When I record a pattern using drums and a sample. When I play it back the drums play but the sample doesn't and I hear a clip sound at the start of the measure where the sample was ????

only thing i could think of is you max out the poly. try resampling pads in mono. I may be completely off though, Never messed with the 606-Im a 404 head

Try selecting a different track for the sample. If that still doesn't work, would it be possible to make a video showing what goes wrong? I don't quite get your problem or at least it's not anything I've encountered so far.

Sounds to me like the sample's set up as GATE when you're trying to use it as a SHOT.

If that's the case, either extend the...... errr...... what's the term for how long the sample plays (man I wish I was sat at my 606), or change the sample type in the sample params.
