"True" Pitch for drums
Hi! Im just happy owner of lovely 404 OG since 5 hours and I've discovered nice method for pitching drums or other short pieces of sound (due to lack of real Pitch feature in 404). And sorry for my english
I'm not sure if it was discussed before but it may help some of You. So, we need to prepare resample and start it. Then we just start messing with this: turn on DjFX Looper (MFX24). Now set the CTRL2 max to the right and CTRL1 max to left side (we need as long buffer as possible so set Length to the max. This is how long the sound will be able for pitching) NOW we try to aim with CTRL3 ON/OFF at our sound to be played fully and captured by DjFXLooper (try to aim as close as possible of the desired sample beginning) In other words we must loop the whole snare from the beginning. Then if we have captured proper portion of sound, (eg. beginning of the snare drum) turn the CTRL2 for desired pitch
After that we stop resampling and all we must do is to "mark" pitched sample in newly resampled pad(rest of recorded adjustments we can truncate). As You can see the maximum length of pitched sample depends on the lowest value of CTRL1 (Length). Of course we can do it very fast with predefining settings of MFX24 such as length for faster finding pitched eg. snare and marking it. Hope it'll help a lot

Good tip there buddy, I noticed this pitching effect from djfx when I recently got my 404sx but have not developed it into a useable technique like this.
your english is fine by the way
Thank you

Thanks
You know, all I read is that 404 hasn't got Pitch feature. So I thought that it must be some method
after watching some random sp vid on youtube where guy is playng live using this looper and pitching, I've heard that sound is REALLY slowing down for a period together with key, so why not to resample it

Re: "True" Pitch for drums
i use this technique on drum samples. Mostly to pitch things down though. Ill pitch up a hi hat sometimes by catching it with DJFX and moving the knob up.
