Who is rocking the mpc 2000

Hey. Im just trying to get an idea of how the 2000 operates. One thing i have yet to figure out is how you can save anything on a tiny ass floppy disk. Ive had a mpc 1000 in the past and so im pretty familair with how an mpc works. Do you just load multiple floppies into memory to rock out different programs. Seems like 1 disk could only hold one program and not even 4 banks worth. Or however many banks the 2000 has. How is time stretching and pitching and chopping. I hear its slow as hell. Thos are basically my questions, anything else im not aware of that might steer me away from the the purchase is appreciated. Im not too deep into the sound quality tho i understand thats a big thing to most. Im more digging the big ass pads and the overall design of the machine. Ive had 2 1000's in the past and both had their arrow buttons conk out on me and the effects and compression are garbage. The 1000 is basically a 2000xl with more memory and garbage effects and audio recording and jjos(which i think the 2000xl has a jjos on the website. . I could be missing a lot tho.

Nah you can do a lot with the small floppys. Iv go the 2kxl (no JJOS for this model). You generally sample everything at double speed to save space then pitch it back down to the normal speed. Yes everything takes a while on both models, think of using a sp303, that kind of speed.

Sounds like you might want a 2500? same pad size but faster and has JJOS.

Really curious on how it operates aswell.. I'm looking to switch from the 2KXL to the classic since there's functions I just don't use so I could just switch back and save/earn some cash.

I've also heard something about overdriving the drums in the 2000 might give a nice sound, can anyone confirm that?

I dont want to put the money out for a 2500. Seems like if i can cop a 2000 with a zip drive or something, i might be better off than with the floppy. I like the sample up, pitch down sound but I'd need more space than a floppy. Whats the deal with those scsi zip drives. Is that the equivalent to an internal. Does it have to be formatted and all that noise?
