Help out Stino

Post by stinobeats »

hey guys i just got a 404 og and i'm stuck on what seems to be a common problem, Loading samples from a laptop. My card is formated and works fine. The sp404 is updated and works fine. I use audacity to convert the audio into the proper wav format 44100hz 16 bit and place it in the root folder. Once i eject the card and insert it into the sp it doesn't turn on when i flip the switch.

If i delete the audio from the card and insert again the sp will turn on when the switch is flipped.

I'm putting the audio file in the root folder beside the folder labeled Roland.

Any ideas? Anyone had this problem?

This is a bit different than my 404sx.

Thx for any help

For future reference for anyone else with this problem, could you let everyone know of how you sorted it? :)

let me share how i solved the problem. I was using a sandisk ultra 4gb disc which wasn't working as described above. I tried another card a sandisk ultra II 1gb and it worked.

Also i used itunes to convert the audio into wav rather than audacity. Obviously itunes isn't very practical so i will try again with audacity or explore a program like recycle for chopping samples ect.

Hope this helps any folk out there who have experienced similar problems!

Peace
