Just bought an Alesis IO Dock!

Post by preqwal »

First impressions.....

I'm really liking it! Got my Microkorg MIDI-ed in and using it as a controller, controlling sunnrizer and epic synth. So nice to have a decent output too. Found the normal 3.5mm out was crazy noisy with random noises kicking out of it, especially when I was touching the screen.

Haven't tried the inputs yet.

It looks quite sweet, bit plasticy but fairly solid.

Trying to just use my 404, ipad and microkorg. Sick of staring at a computer screen!

very nice. I grabbed one for christmas cause it was on sale. Got it running into my 404 with beatmaker for sampling and chopping. It syncs to the 404 perfectly which i have never had happen except for the sp 555. So i press play in beatmaker and the 404 is synced up. The ipad is a beat in its own right and having the necesary tool to get all thaose sounds out and into the 404 is fucking awesome.

Cool.

Haven't tried any of the sync options yet. I've got beatmaker 2, too.

I generally figure out a riff in my ipad then sample each note into the 404 to sequence in there. But I'm looking to track all my sounds into the ipad, then back into the 404 for panning and levels etc.

I managed to get one direct from Alesis' ebay store as it was a refurb. £50 off the original price!

Not sure if there's anything for android. I don't think there'll ever be a docking system due to the sheer amount of android devices. But I don't see why not a USB audio interface can't work!
