QQ's regarding sampling

Post by winnsmith »

Hello, I am new to the sp 404, and I want to sample from my old turntable. It's a pioneer PL-518x, It is very old, like from the 70's. Anyway's, If i were to buy a turntable pre-amp and use the RCA cables to link it to my SP404, would it be able to sample the sounds from my turntable directly into the SP 404?

Also, when I am recording the sample into my sp 404, how would I listen to the sounds I want to sample, if it's directly going to my sp 404? would I need to be using a software? I currently have Logic, and I plan to record into that as well. If anyone would be willing to help me figure out the perfect set up for what I want to do, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Winn

Yeah, a preamp or dj mixer would be good.

You can monitor through the sp404 whilst sampling, so use either the headphone out on the 404 or plug the 404 into some speakers
