Re: Battle 125 Poll
i chose kel on this round due the nice remix. killah priest u can't go wrong. also the vocals matched the beat which alot of cats fail to do when remixing and the beat was bad ass. that was a surprise for me because normally i hear kel doing more trippy efxs on his beats, and this was more straight forward. so it showed me some of his other dimensions of production. runrun raw very close second i haven't heard a whatever beat from u yet. definitely maxin out ur sp utilizing all them effects and functions . runme raw are yall really brothers? if so that explains why yall r ill . you get to practice sharpening the blades on the daily.lol also boogie had the straight forward approach ,but it was good definitely can hear an emcee on that. defintely tuning to your soundcloud .
Re: Battle 125 Poll
peace D, you flipped the sample something fierce! yeah my flip was pretty straight forward, just wanted to participate this time around

Re: Battle 125 Poll
GIS: First off, love the track, totally unafraid to try something different in a battle which is always good. Dont really hear much ambient stuff on here, especially in battles. Nice textures. I wasn't so sure about the vocal. I think you used it just right before it became too much.
EISENDRAHT: Sweeeet intro, kinda had a western soundtrack feel, SWEEEET bassline and I loved that melody that came in after the intro. The synthy sounds were really cool. Minimal but really effective. I enjoyed this track so much my only complaint is that it was too short. Maybe you could have reverted back to the intro and played the whole thing through again.
UNFOLDING MACHINES: Crazy intro, real psychedelic vibe and the rewind worked really well, LOVED the drum sounds. Really great processing on the kick and hats. Really great use of the vocal samples and I realllly loved the use of hats and the bassline had my head nodding.
MANIFEST: Great vocals, I loved the intro and it kicked in really sweet. Awesome kick and snare sound developed from the samples. Really sweet roll at 1:24 was that a resample roll or did you sequence it?
CHOPPERMAN: Sweet intro, nice subtle use of the filter or isolator at the start was a nice touch. Had a kind of disjointed but still groovy feel. The changeover at the halfway mark really glued the 2 parts nicely. Nice use of the flanger?towards the end, I normally hate this effect but it was used nicely.
ELLAGURU: I wasn't overly keen on the 'mate don't be late' line but I really dug how it came in kinda pink floyd trippy shiiiiiz. The vocals had that proper dancehall mc vibe. Nice overall, different from your average battle sound. Really like the subtle use of mfx14? sound towards the end.
ROWSEDOWER: Sweet lofi, laid back intro. Great use of reverse and BPM LOOPER. Kind of wobbly but overall sweet groove. The reversed bassline gave it a cool trippy vibe, as did the reverberated/echo drum hits. The only thing I would have added was more variation, maybe harder drum hits towards the end or a different beat or something.
RUNME RAW: Really enjoyed the wobbly vocals at the start and the glitchy feel. The vocal cuts worked well. At 00:43 it had a really dark feel and I expected it to take a real dark turn, which I would have loved. You used the lofi effect really subtley and it sounded cool, not overused as it can tend to do.
BOOGIE: Straight up bar sample for the intro, I'm always afraid to use a bar of the track but I think you did it well, the bassline worked well and the organ sounded cool too. I love the snare sound you got from the samples. Did you use the BPM adjust function?Thats the only thing I dislike about the sp's is that it makes the whole thing sound like its underwater but I suppose if you're working from within the box its your only choice to adjust BPM.
KEL: MAAAAAAAAN that vocal intro, reverse, sped up shiiiiz was cool. In general the whole track had a real pro feel, The bassline was sweeeeet. The vocals and beat fit so well together. Amazing. My only complaint is that it ended too quickly, would've loved more.
RIM$- MAAAAN that guitar cut sounded cool, I dont even remember hearing it in the sample. Works really well and i love the Rim shot sound you achieved. Nice half time break down in the middle.
RUNRUN RAW: Really like the vocal cuts at the start, what was the sample about the roland sampler from?Had a cool lofi feel overall and great use of lthe bitcrushing and djfx looper. Not overused as it can often tend to be.This is another track I feel just ended quite abrubtly.
iiiii- EPIC intro, had a real gush of sound. LOved those vocal samples, what were they from? Were they from the original sample of something else? The clipping was a bit too much. Overall this had a real different vibe to it than the stuff I normally hear from your battles. Felt epic and almost post rock sounding.
Voting was a tough one, the ones that stuck out to me were EISENDRAHT, UNFOLDING, KEL AND iiiii. My vote's gonna have to go with Eisendraht. Good work to everyone though.

ahah, sorry for that stupid line, how could i recorded it? anyway, i was frustrated by 1)not knowing well the english language 2)not founding any vocal sample i liked in time, so i recorded by myself.
the mfx14?i massively used isolator, eq, compressor, some lofi, reverb, tumbling, reverse and that's all.

I did use the bpm function mainly for that wobbly bass
