track muting trick

Can someone explain the track muting trick, i did't get the other one on here..

Say you want to mute the hi-hat's in your pattern sequence, then all you have to do is press that button to make it the current pad and then press the isolator effect and turn all the knobs to the left and your hi-hat's will be muted.

yo i CANT BELIEVE IVE BEEN SLEEPING ON THIS TECHINIQUE!Ive always wanted to track out of the sp for the sake of being able to mute individual tracks!Thanks to the DR. I am in need of no mixer!!Plus you can select mutiple pads for multiple mutes!These SP boxes are out of control man!everything you need in a little box!!

to do just one quick live mute (not good for recording) you can put your pads chop on gate and when the sequence triggers that pad then tap that pad quick (dont leave your finger on it).
