Low battery indicator 404sx?

Just noticed something pretty neat on the 404sx. Was running it off some cheap ass batteries sat on the sofa and after a couple of hours I noticed the function button flashing. Thought my sx was fucked so turned it off and on again and still the same. I plugged it in and the flashing stopped. I think it must be a low battery indicator?! Anyone else found this?

i think the . in the OG display blinks when its lo bat but not sure. but yeah the SX does do that doesnt it.
