Question about MIDI

I hope someone can help me with this.
I have the zoom sampletrak and the zoom streetboxx.
My goal is to make beats on the streetboxx and trigger samples from the sampletrak. The problem is both boxes have only MIDI IN. Is there anyway to make these two boxes talk to each other:? Do I need to have another sequencer with both MIDI IN/OUT(thru)?

Doesn't sound like you need to use the MIDI function.

Just strings some beats together then jam over the top with your chops. Record that into something else and you have a track.

You could use software or a hardware sequencer to sequence your beats, but you don't need to.
