Anyone know an app to read the smartmedia files?

Post by KIDesign »

Hey guys,

So normally I just play the pads out into ableton, but I got a card reader today and want to try and use it. But anytime I load in the smartmedia card it gives me files that my mac book pro cant read. My question is, is there a way to convert them to wav. or aiff, or should I get an app that will read the smartmedia files.

Sorry if this is covered already, I couldnt find a way to look it up.

BTW, this forum rules.

Thanks,

KI

Quite an old topic I know, but I've only just found it!

Unfortunately not, the 404 uses its own file compression which cannot be converted. The 404sx and the 606 uses wav files, so you can import stuff onto the card.

The best thing would be to record your samples into your PC and then record the edited ones back.

If you're only looking to backup the CF card, you can just store the files on your PC and drag em back over when you want to use them again
