recording from 404 to ableton or audacity

i want to send my beat i made on a pad to ableton or audacity using rca cables. i open ableton and have line out connected to my laptops 3.5 MM headphone jack and it wont pick up the audio from my sp-404, is there any reason why i can't get sound off my 404? i would try to export it but i made another thread on how when i try to export samples it just says "E.H.P." when i press [cancel] + [resample]

Use Audacity

connect to your laptop. make sure audacity is picking up the audio by checking its preferences.

"Line Out" on the 404 has to be connected to "Line In" on the laptop.

You currently have it connected to the "headphone/line out" socket which means you have an output going to an output.

plugging your sp output into your computers headphone jack probably wont work unless you're on a 13" macbook pro with the weird multiuse 1/8 inch whatever
if you are on a mac thennnnnn
you can change the headphone jack to an input read this

Laptop -> soundcard (komplete audio 6) via USB
soundcard OUT -> SP IN via RCA to 1/4 inch cable
SP out -> soundcard IN (3/4) via RCA to 1/4 inch cable

I have a clip on ableton (who's a song) and i want to record this clip directly with the sp effect .
The ableton clip is on audio 1 (audio from ext.in 1/2 and monitor "auto" for play it ) and I have the audio 2 (audio from ext.in 3/4 and monitor "in" for receive the audio 1 signal with the sp effect in ableton.
But if i mute the audio 1 , there is not signal in audio 2
And if the audio 1 is not mute , the audio 2 receive audio 1 with efffect but the clip with effect and clip without effect play in same time.

?????HOW CAN I DO ?????

you cant unless your audio interface has more than 1 set of outputs.

however, if you record the result it will record just fine, and play back normally.

i have 2 sets of output on komplete 6

then just use one output to send to the SP, and the other outputs for the master output

unless you are running some other mixer software or program that is modifying the routing, that is all you should need.
