ok so i set my snares on a count like this....
1,snare,3,snare
so on 2 and 4 my snares hit....
is that right?
i mean i know i have my own choice but im just wondering....
and how should i set up my 404 to edit right now i make a beat with all my smaples and its the chorus i record like 3 bars.....
then i delete some smaples.....tyhen record a little bit....
then i edit it and make it all fit togetehr is alright>?

The drum beat you describe is the basic rock and roll "backbeat". Most songs, especially pop songs, use that as the basic pattern. You can of course get much weirder, or even simpler with it, but, what you're describing is the best place to start. It's also the first drum beat you'd learn if taking real drum lessons.

whaddup, yeah thats right if thats what you're going for. Like Huph said, its the basic rock backbeat. I usually start my beats with a basic kick/snare pattern in 4/4 then add/subtract if necessary.
