Post by yo-yo crunch »

anyone seen these yet? i wanted to get the original monotron but the guy at the store said it was kind of a rip off because its only one oscillator. duo has two. delay also looks cool:

Went to get the delay one yesterday. Guitar center was sold out. Prolly cause it's only 50 bucks and can process input sounds through it. Crazy tape echo shit. Could come in handy.

I have the delay. It is fun to make noise with. The input through KS only 1/8 inch. Using it to delay something else is kinda crappy.

Really? Adding delay to an external source is bad? You mind explaining, i was looking into the duo and the delay for the price. Seems like some nice machines to have to just jam out with some buddies and press record. But if all it can do is make tape echo noise, i can do that farting in a bathroom with the mic.

seems like the delay is kinda pointless if you already have an sp with delay and tape echo fx...unless i'm missing something. does the delay have two oscillators like the duo? if not, the duo appears to be a wiser purchase

Yeah. I got a 404 but I hate that it syncs to the master tempo. I think I'm missing something there because it has to be an easier way to set the tempo on a 404. I think I'm just slow. But the duo might be better.

Tape echo does not sync to bpm. You adjust delay speed manually. The regular delay fx does sync to master bpm... No way around that.

I think the monotron with delay is a good purchase. From the demos I have seen the delay sounds on point and much better than what the SP does. I wanted the original and delay cuz I heard they messed up something with the duo.

the duo doesn't have the lfo of the original monotron.
but you can set the duo to play precise pitches which is pretty hard on the original.
they are all so different. i only had the original and it is dope but the others are probably cool too. now i have the monotribe because it was a cheap used one.

yesterday i got the monotron delay as a present. i can't play a normal scale on it but the sounds it can create are super sick. perfect for playing around for a minute and than having a dirty noisy bleepy ill sound loop for sampling. if anybody is into that:) i definitely am.
