1st post! only 2nd day on the SP303 - couple of Q's

Post by DonLeisure_DHF »

Hello! 1st post here went through a few pages but couldnt see answers to my queries...i have an sp303 (orig) on loan and although i am not new to production im new to the SP...

1) is there a choke function on there? so i can trigger a loop without holding down then trigger another one which will cut the 1st loop off? similar to what you can do on abelton or the MPC

2) is there a site that goes thru the FX and the little letters they use for the parameters? i really really like the vinyl sim mode but it seems to make sounds waver too much and it sounds like its on a turntable with a warped record is there a way to make it not do that?

thanks in advance!

1) nope. the 404 has a 'ghetto' mute group trick though

2) download the manual, all the fx parameters are in there.

on the vinyl sim, knob 1=compressor; knob 2=noise; knob 3=flutter. i usually turn knob 1 all the way up (this may create some nice ducking in your samples), knobs 2 and 3 all the way down. the flutter is what's making the pitch change.

hold down remain and hit the effect to apply it to all pads.

but get the manual because a lot of simple questions will be answered

in that case, for the choke function, do a search for the 'delete mode' thread. pads cut each other off when you're in delete mode, but obviously the pattern sequencer and resample functions will be disabled so you'll need to record your performance to another device. its pretty close to what you're talking about
