SP-404 Compact Flash Nightmare
So I've purchased three different Compact Flash Cards hoping one would work and I've had no luck.
The first one I purchased was a Transcend CF80 1GB, I thought everything was peachy until I tried sampling, and this would happen to every sample... Anyone know what can be the issue for this? It seems to pan left to right.
The next one I bought was a Transcend 133x 1Gb, that shit wouldn't even turn on.
The most resent one I purchased was a SanDisk Extreme III (I ordered a fucking Ultra II three weeks ago and got this piece of shit today) and it doesn't turn on either.
So I would be willing to trade my SanDisk Ultra II 4GB CF for a 1GB CF card that is compatible with the SP-404.
Thanks

i use the Ultra II with no problems. my standard sandisk 1gb has just starting fcking up on lengthy resamples. cf cards are starting to get expensive, the new smartmedia. need to stockpile a few more!!

Dunno if these do the trick, but it would be nice if they do: http://www.photofast.tw/products.asp?pid=63 or http://www.amazon.com/ESDCFII-Extreme-SDHC-Type-Adapter/dp/B0048W4RV4Nothingless1987 wrote:i use the Ultra II with no problems. my standard sandisk 1gb has just starting fcking up on lengthy resamples. cf cards are starting to get expensive, the new smartmedia. need to stockpile a few more!!

Could be.
I've had no problems formatting my sandisk ultra ii [extreme iii *should* also work], but had problems with an Integral CF. If you put it in and turned the 404 on, the machine wouldn't respond. I've managed to format it with the 404 (in the end), by turning the machine on first and putting the cf card in second (at your own risk). This made the 404 autoformat the cf card. Or you might try formatting it on your computer in Fat(8) format, not 16 or even 32 and giving it the name 'FUGUEFAT' (uppercase, without the ''s ofcourse). Any other name isn't accepted. The next one I bought was a Transcend 133x 1Gb, that shit wouldn't even turn on.

Re: SP-404 Compact Flash Nightmare
ok, update...
So I was thinking about the CF bullshit and I decided to do something different. First off I was told by my buddy to never plug in the CF card while the SP is on, but I said fuck that and plugged them in after it was turned on. And the SP recognized them so i could format.
So in the future if anyone has this issue, just PM me, i'll guide you thru the process.

It won't turn on if you plug it in before you turn it on. And if you plug it in while its on, it will format it, but you still cant save shit to it.
