SP 606 AND MPD24

Post by YoungHeat »

WHATS UP GUYS? HEY I WAS WONDERING SINCE I ALREADY HAVE THE MPD24 BUT I WANT THE SP 606 IF I HOOKED THE TWO UP TOGETHER THRU MIDI WOULD THE MPD ALREADY BE SET TO THE SP'Z PADS? SAY IF I MADE A PRESET ON THE MPD FOR THE SP 606 AND I HOOKED THE SPZ MIDI OUT TO THE MIDI IN OF THE MPD AND THE MIDI OUT OF THE MPD TO THE SP'Z MIDI IN WOULD THE MPD DISPLAY THE NOTES FROM THE PADS ON THE SP? I WANT TO USE MY MPD'Z PADS INSTEAD OF THE SP'Z BECAUSE THE SP'Z PADS ARE TO SMALL BUT THEY ARE THICK.....

In theory, it should work, yes, but I am not sure that the MIDI note messages are the same for both units.

You'll be in for a surprise when you touch the SP-606 pads for sure. 8) Don't know if you have tried an SP-606 yet, but it's a huge difference.

Big pads is indeed an advantage over the SP-606, but as far as sensitivity and so on I think you're definitely going to like the SP-606 pads.
