NI Maschine vs SP-555

I know the Maschine can do a lot more but my question is can it do everything the 555 can (except the D Beam of course)? It can host plug-ins but can the plug in effect be used in realtime while recording the vocals for example or just post recording? Can it do the loop capture thing of the 555?
