Unfortunately for this round I didn't have my SP-606 handy, used an ESX & KP3. Had a go with your samples, Endor, as a way to test myself & try a new workflow (pretty happy with the outcome). Thought it'd be worthwhile sharing the results, comp-invalid or otherwise.

@Unfolding that sounds really nice man, I didnt hear it before you added the bassline. But it sounds major, really nice mix. Maybe we should close the open challenge thats been up for about half a year and get another one going. Working with other gear is good for a fresh perspective. Something I need to do more. Anywho the poll will end Saturday morning unless people want a extension. Here is mine.

Cheers Endor! The mix was entirely done in the ESX & that's it. Those machines can have some really great tones, the credit goes to Korg for sticking a tube amp in it. You didn't miss anything with the bass-free version, its almost exactly the same as the one you've heard (got lucky on the second take).

Think I may put up an open challenge based on using non-SP samplers, thanks for the suggestion! I'll find a good track to flip & it's on.

But more importantly... Where's the poll for this battle? Did someone PM you for more time?
