does anybody around here know why on soundclick lo-fi plays at regular speed & hi-fi plays at slower speed?

that's usually caused by a wrong bit rate when converted to mp3.

Yeah, if your song is exported at 96khz then when it's compressed down to 48khz sample rate then it halves the tempo of the original song to match the sample rate of 44.1khz.
