How to play a pattern with MIDI ?

Hi,

I just got a SP404 and I'm willing to use an external device to use it thanks to the MIDI connection. I easily found how to play a given pad with MIDI but I couldn't figure out how to lunch a pattern ?

Is there a way to do that ? is that even included in the MIDI implementation ?

I don't know if patterns work the same as the pads for playing, but if so you probably just have to figure out what MIDI Note that is and sync 'em up. I can't help you much more than that cause I'm just a MIDI noooob.

i dont think the patterns can be launched by midi.
only the samples.

Yep, that's what I was afraid of. I kind of tried all the midi notes and none of them would triggered any of the patterns...

Hello and brand new to the site! Just bought an SP-404SX for my band and love it but trying to work it into our system and have questions. I get what you said but how do you play samples on the 404sx from a midi keyboard? Let's say I sampled a whole song on pad 1 of the 404sx and I want my keyboard to trigger it from it's sequencer. And I also have second song on pad 2 that I want to play when I switch to my second song on my playlist. Is this possible to do? Make all the changes from my keyboard so the 404sx knows the next song?
