how to record vinyls onto Audacity using roland 404

Ok so I use my Roland sp404 to get the sounds from my mixer (turntables) to play through my speakers. but im having trouble on how to make the sounds go through my laptop. Just confused on what cables need to be where I guess.. CAN ANYONE help a brotha out?

Oh and im using a macbook as well.

Not sure about Macs, but for me and my PC:

I record the vinyl onto my 404 as samples > take out my memory card and insert it into my computer > Upload the samples from the card onto my hard drive > Then I can load them into Audacity.

...Audacity kind of sucks, in my opinion. Though I use it sometimes b/c its free.

Thank you I may have to try it that way. but what else besides Audacity is good to use?

if you have a mac just use garageband. you can go out the headphone jack (or rca) of the 404 into the line in on the mac. if your mac is the one with only 1 jack, you can change that in the sound preferences from output to input

I just don't like to use my computer at all... I resample on the 404 or use the pattern sequencer, then record them direct onto my multi-track... burn it on a cd, done. Old school, but I don't mess around much with computer recording. If I had Ableton, maybe I'd eff with it, but Audacity is just... no fun, too hard to navigate within the 'songs'.
