I might be missing something here but what did dude do when he hit the pads and they lit up b4 he plays the horn melody. Looks like he assigned chops or somethin while the sequence played. Is there some kind of way to chop easier or am i just trippin. ??

It seems like he's playing those chops over some beat that is playing but it does not come from the SP since you can't see the pattern light on which means he's not playing a sequence. I always wonder why people make these kind of videos, not very inspiring to say the least. I doesn't do justice to the machine nor does it show their skills (I hope for the guy that he can do more than plays some sample of a sp-404).

I can turn the pattern light off and my sequence still plays. I do agree all the vids ive seen wit cats using the 404 been lame as fuck. I was just wonderin if he was assigning shit or something cause i never seen it done like that.

True, I completely forgot about that (oops

) it could also be that image and sound don't play exactly in sync on this video. I still think this was another example of a lame 404 video. Perhaps someone with a video camera and more knowledge on the box could make a video that does it more justice.
