Audacity noob needing help asap.

Hey guys im new and i was wondering if someone would help me by answering these questions.

1. im getting a sp 404sx in about a week. and as i understand most people use a usb soundcard to the laptop then plug the sp 404 to the soundcard . im going to be using audacity to record , is there any settings needed to be selected in order to be able to record?

2. i also wanna record vocals using a usb mic. again are there any settings needed to be selected in order to record vocals. plz and thanks

1) Use this program to convert samples to/from the 404sx: http://www.rolandus.com/support/downloa ... _vista.zip. Then you don't have to connect your pc to the sx anymore (only a cardreader is required).

i just got a 404sx two days ago...i havnt tracked out yet but i used audacity and my interface to track out with my mpc 2000xl and it works fine. i just two track out (left/right) and then convert the entire track to a wav file...works like a charm
