brain wave synchronizer and binaural beats

Post by tape smoke »

anyone know how to use this thing, its in cool edit 2 and adobe audition,
this is what is says when i click help on the brainwave synchronizer.

Cool Edit Pro’s Brainwave Synchronizer can produce files that, when listened to with stereo headphones, will put the listener into any desired state of awareness. For example, by listening to “brainwaved” files, you can achieve states such as deep sleep, theta meditation, or alpha relaxation. Because of the nature of this function, it only works on stereo waveform data, and to be effective, it must be listened to with stereo headphones.

The Brainwave Synchronizer function spatially locates the audio left and right, in a circular pattern over time. In order to spatially encode the signal, either the left or right channel is delayed so that the sounds will appear at each ear at different times, tricking the brain into thinking they are coming from either side. When this is done at frequencies of 3Hz and above, the brain will start synchronizing at the same frequency, increasing its output of Delta, Theta, Alpha, or Beta frequencies.

i dont know much about this stuff yet, but i think the pan on the 404 is almost like a brainwave synchronizer, when you use the tremelo you can do isochronic brainwaves, this is when the sample cuts off and on like using ext source with gate. using this with special tones makes it better, lots of you probably know about this stuff,

does anyone know anything about magic window frequencies ?

science appears to say no. There have been lots of news stories about idosing, but as far as whether sound can get you high, it looks doubtful... the data has not supported the claim. Probably loads of 13 year olds with placebo buzzes, though

In short, your beats may be dope, but they won't literally be dope.

You should figure out that southpark note that when played makes anyone who hears it poop themslves.

On another note, I think it's insane cool edit pro is putting out these types of claims."buy our software and you can subliminally control minds with your music!" Any desired state of awareness?! Come on....the only reaction I have to over done tremelo is annoyance.

A teacher back in the day told me that if you fluctuate between 5 and 7hz or something like that really loud it can vibrate your insides and make you shit yourself

i have been curious in this for quite some time, i got cool edit 1.2 in 2001, a friend from schhool gave it to me in grade 11 on a cd, ive been messing with it pretty much since, i heard some crazy tone generator music in 2001 that made me mad paranoid, it was just loud buzzing for 5 minutes , then i was addicted to being paranoid from that song. it almost made it so nothing made me paranoid anymore then a couple years ago i get hard core panic attacks and almost have to jump out a emergency escape on a bus and shit like that, but only when i was fuckin with flax oil,i read online drinking it can make you crazy .i heard some bass wobbles from nowhwere, been chased by ball lightnight and had to strip naked and then i turned green. i think that kind of shit is magic window frequencies.

For the record it's a little different to plain tremolo. Basically what it is is one channel is pitched down/up by about 10hz compared to the other.. more advanced versions modulate the difference between the two but it's basically at any given point in time, the left signal and the right signal are at slightly different pitch (but the difference is too small to be detectable by the ears as 'different pitch')

You can either include a track with a sin wave in each channel offset, or you can offset the entire track - but it probably doesn't 'work' as well.. since the track's pitch is all over the place

All this basic slightly different frequency in each ear thing.. Is interesting but, in answer to your question...

Music is how sound makes you high!

People listen to music because of the way it makes you feel.. the images it fills your head with.. etc, etc.

Imagine that, waves of air pressure causing emotions and ideas!

It's almost like magic ~ say a certain 'key word' and a magical effect occurs..

who would have thought that a sequence of frequencies, air pressure waves... created by hands controlling either a mechanical or electronic machine, ior the body itself.. could have such a deep impact on people...

People take it for granted, but imagine trying to make someone feel like they're floating on a cloud just by waving a piece of cardboard in the air to create a pressure wave! Then imagine developing/discovering all the way up to developing the tools complex enough to create tiny differences in the air pressure.. and knowing what order/frequency to play them in to create a certain effect... It's mind blowing.. It's exactly why extremely advanced technology appears as magic and is impossible to conceive! (This kinda idea makes me excited sorry lol)

going back to the binaural beats/etc thing.. I think there are more complex frequency combinations/air pressure patterns that we have not yet learnt to harness for psychological manipulation..

I think there are many different techniques to be mastered.... An example of a recently REdiscovered technique, would be the hypnotic effect of repetition used in alot of modern music.. It's even more advanced - because on it's own it doesnt actually cause a feeling.. in fact it's counterintuitive to listen to boringly repetitive music.. but if you do, it puts you in a state where the other sound-magic - word relationships, melodys, etc... Have a much more intense effect

So does this mean that if someone makes a 800 bpm techno beat that has a mastery of this type of engineering, I & my brain will have no choice but to love it,and become entranced by the producers intended mood by his magic air presure frequencies? Or would i actually have to like 800 bpm techno beats in the first place.. & just think it was a piece of garbage regardless, because I fucking hate techno music?

Naw- I appreciate what your saying, and the passion behind it-but I'm not buying the whole mind altering frequency deal.Lyrics to songs however-can and do most definitely have a subconscious effect on all of us.As well as what we're exposed to visually.

I know a thing or two about neuroscience and to be honest this is all laughable...yes you can elicit certain "phantom" experiences using the right stimuli as cartesia gave example of, but the notion of sound creating the type of complex neurological/hormonal response that occurs when a narcotic floods the brains receptors is totally absurd on every level

lol-I did exactly this in 96 when I recorded my first official studio shit-for people that "ordered" it in other parts of the country, I would put half a joint or a good sized roach inside each tape.(yes, actual tapes)
