To go on with the vinyl effect, someone once pointed out that tis compression seemed more musical than mfx 12. If I need compress anything, I use vynil sim with the two other knobs turned to the min.
If you need to use chromatic ps to make melodic lines, a way to make your PS'ed sound sound a bit more natural is to cut off the first milliseconds of the sound. Believe me, I've used it several time, it makes a difference : The chromatic PS seem to add delay between PS 1 an PS 2, so there is two attacks and the sound is a bit muffled. You can't do anything about the sound, but you can cut off the first attack. (BTW I wish they made a single chromatic PS,not that dual chromatic PS which is, in the end, nonsense).
Final tip : we all know the time stretch is bad. When using time stretch, artefacts can be diminished by the cut off filter. (Off course there is a quality loss related to this treatment)

i hope you people are aware of the fact resample isn't limited to only one sample, but you can also layer samples or even play a sequence of samples and record the audio to one pad. for instance a drumloop without quantization, so you don't have to play your drumloop over every pattern or do the time consuming copy trick flying lotus gave us.
i'm sure some of you think this is obvious but maybe others didn't think of it yet

i'm a fan of bringing samples in quiet and increasing the volume, however, couldn't figger out how to adjust the volume of a pad when its not selected and other pads are playing, or when a pad IS selected, but wasn't the last pad you hit.
to adjust the pad in question: hold remain, choose the pad so it is selected, then choose it again so it is not. let go of remain. hit start/end/level, and you can edit that pad's volume.
this may be obvious, but i just figgered it out. i like it cuz i can bring stuff in depending on what i think the mix needs next, and work the volume of it in.

is it possible to record a sequence on lets say pad 1, and then resample that to another sequence?

Yep.. I tried this technique for Snares and Kicks.. beefs up the volume nicely.. also if you then add the 14 Lo-Fi filter to the snare to dirty it up a bit.. whoah..that's it after that a little eq / compression / reverb if needed and voila you got a dope drum kit ready to pattern with..
i found using a delay worked well with samples that were really choppy, turning the delay up so it only it sorta fades out towards the end works really well for adding a nice natural smooth decay.....
and
spending a lot of time chopping a sample, haha drums were completely off mainly because i didnt chop the drum later, there was too much dead air at the beginning that affected the timing....
