Hello everybody,
I also have a similar problem on my sp 404.
I recently purchased two Transcend Compact Flash 133x Type I 1GB on amazon (the model below):

When I plug them into the sp, the machine does not power on, no lights or anything. So I tried to format them on my PC without any success.
The thing is weird because I bought in 2009 the same compact flash, the exact same model except the serial number, and I use it every day with my SP and it's working perfectly.
I'm kind of lost and don't know which card to buy now.
Any help ?
