that was an 80s italo disco hit.
if you have some sample or some idea i should take it. you can even consider to send it to me. no problems to make another test session.
by now i don't know if i got some vinyls with rhodes...
some '70 jazz rock could do the trick too? let me know.

and as for the difference between samplers, try to listen the mc909, it sounds different...

Fauna,

good looks on the work put into this.

the Sampletrakk and 303 are definitely more muffled. I dig the lofi, but the muffled high end is kind of jelly/squishy sounding... there's not enough snap in dem snares.

I actually liked the sound of the kp and 606 ... maybe im biased

some consistency with the stereo and mono switch up should be addressed for the next comparison session.

@ pook, it was actually ellaguru who put this together. He's the sampler fiend around here!

As for sampletrak being muffled, try recording in hifi stereo. It's the only mode I use and I can get stuff thumping like that. I don't bother with the other modes as I don't like the sound it provides.

personally i also like standard and lofi mode, but it's a matter of taste, and "de gustibus non est disputandum"...so i decided to make a STEREO session very soon...

II part: STEREO TRY
(sorry for the es1 and the sp303 files but someway they're not really stereo: the 303 got broken out so i play it via headphones, the es1 i don't know how to better set the sample section...)

i think this sample better serves the comparison. it's nice to hear how the samplers affect a snare. the 909 is crunchy. is it jean-luc ponty?

Session II I can really hear a difference.....the 303 sounds like it rolls off the high end significantly compared to the 505...

I dont know why but you can hear that flanging element much more in the 505 as opposed to the 303
