555 deleted my card. Any way to save the files?

Post by Riggonia »

I've been using a Sandisc Ultra 2GB for half a year now with no problems. Today when i was cutting some new samples it stopped reading the card and all the card banks flash while the screen reads FNT. Are all my samples lost? The SP-555 wave converter won't read the card either. Has anyone else had this problem or know why it suddenly decided to stop reading this card? Thanks ahead of time for any feedback!

I'd try making a copy of the card on your computer and maybe contact Roland support to see if they can help. This is why I say not to rip the card out of your SP while turned on, as eventually, the card gets corrupted. When I had that happen where the SP had to format the card to use it again, I was still able to extract my samples with WaveConverter. Could be you have a failing card, but if you format it and it works fine again, you'll know that you merely just corrupted it.
