not shure whats up, I've tryed tons of different sample rate and nothing is giving me a nything close to what my machines sound like, I get waaaay better quality when I bounce to tape, record back to 404 and then drag the wave into my computer, I only use my USB sound card for multi tracking onto the beat after. it has a really dull kinda greyish sound or something. not so noticable for complete vocal tracks, but its impossible to record a beat and make it sound dynamic and rich like it sounds when you record with the 404.

might have to get an mbox and asio that bitch, its the best quality going, my uca costed 9 bucks, you get what you pay for, but it works really good for converting digital to analog tape, so i shouldnt complain.

i don't know anything about the behringer uca 202 and can't help you with that. but i have an e-mu 0404 which is supposed to have a pretty good quality for the price (about 150 bucks). and i think it does. but still the sound is better when i record the beat from 404 to tape or 303 and then back in the 404 to export it. so now i try not to use my computer for recording at all.

Same here. It never worked well for me. Always got a buzz coming from the headphone out and the line out. Just thought it was cheap.

try unplugging your laptop when and see if the buzzing goes away.
It works perfect like I mentioned before, recording to tape, it gives it a "creamy" 1 bit sound. but for recording its harsh, I got it to sound a litttle better after I went into the recording properties and turned the microphone down to 10. then I was able to set my 404 to full blast, just like how I make my music. 48000 doesnt sound to bad, but it works good for vocals processed in the 404. sounds almost like pro tools.
