DSI Tempest/SP303/OP-1/Biscuit Live Beat Video.

Post by V-F! »

303 and OP-1 just used for their compressors and Punch effect. Biscuit is soft in the mix, I'm trying to highlight the Tempest.

Is tempest worth the heavy price tag? I sort wanted one...but then again, i want everything that's shiny and new (or analog).

Tough question, I would say it is worth it. It's really deep but also intuitive. Super fun and inspiring and sounds fantastic. Thinking about it they put so much effort into this machine and there are so many high quality parts, I think they are asking a very fair price. Its still real tough to bite the bullet and put the cash down, but I've been obsessing over the boom chik for 5 years, I just had to try it or I would have gone crazy thinking about it every day.
Thanks for all the kind words on sound cloud and youtube and on here !

This is dope as all hell! Are you like a Bruce Wayne type? Independantly wealthy and buying expensive toys for your batcave? I wish I had your music instrument budget. Fuckin OP-1 is just too expensivo for my blood.

Liked this the most out of the music of yours that I've heard. Live videos are always fun to watch, too.

haha a minute,

I know what you mean... If I sold something, I'd end up buying something else with that "cash". Ebay/paypal ruined my life.

Nice vid man
I have a couple o questions
Is the op-1 worth the cash? How vesitile are the synth engines? and are you using the biscuit on the master for most of your stuff or do you effect you drums, bass and melody's separately?
Just got one and I'm trying to find the happy medium between messed up sounds and electrical hiss. IV found that I just need to use it and the 404 on there own due to my old desk producing too much electrical hum which biscuit turns into white noise.
I don't have a problem with a bit of dirt but when it,s on everything in a beat it becomes too much.

Thanks, my signal flow is tempest/ipad->op-1->biscuit->303->computer. So in other words I biscuit the whole beat. OP-1 is the best bargain out there! I've never clicked so well with any other instrument. I would have paid 1500$ for it. I really could write a book on how much I love it.
