Post by tape smoke »

it used to be easy but my old search techniques dont work and always end up to like 60s rare funk loops.wmv , even when i try to go on secret ninja paths i still get the feeling its all been pillaged. might just need some new records.

You should change the way you search. But your right, it aint the same as it was 5 years ago where only a handful knew about a record, now I find stuff and its on everybody's and their mothers blog site and prices get jacked up.

Hahaha, Ill Green racking up post counts ;)

But ya, I've given up on the e-digging over the last year. I got tired of hearing the same shit everywhere I went. I've lately got more obsessed with 70s and 80s VHS movies. I get em for about 4 for a dollar at thrift shops and garage sales. Got a few hundred now and been having a blast sampling them and it doesn't seem like I'll run out any time soon.

Just mix up yer diggs and you'll find some new inspirations. Maybe try taking requests from friends or family. Hit up your independent radio station and sample that. Take a mic and your SP and get some found sounds. I know me and ellaguru love buying cassette tapes that have been recorded on with no labels. Its always something crazy. Just keep your ears clean and your mind fresh, youll find inspiration.

there is some good libraries of music and internet radio, sometimes i just record a shit load to tapes or, I just record when I feel lucky. either way i end up with hours of stuff that i dont need and my beats are hidden in that on the tapes
