Modding

Post by ceedubs »

Hey guys! I am new to the forum. I am very interested in copping a SP-202 for obvious reasons. The only thing holding me back is the whole memory issue. I was wondering if anyone has tried to mod it to have either more internal memory or even a different card slot. Any input would be much apopreciated.

Thanks!

do you own another sampler ?

I tend to use my sp202 to process samples but I record them from the 202 to other samplers that have more memory like my sp404 or MPC, also I record them back to my mac...

since the 90's I've rarely used the 202 to play back samples for production.. I do have a few memory cards though

yeah, having two samplers is highly recommended, especially if you're gonna grab a 202. Being able to craft parts and then dump them to a second sampler will free you up BIG TIME.

I've never seen a modded SP-202 but don't think anything could be done other than turning it into a glitch box, if that's your thing. As far as modding the memory input, it's not possible since it's part of the motherboard.
