so its like this. recently i was watching a video about circuit bending and in it they were making some cool sounds that were kind of coming off random.

But of course recorded and then sequenced those random sounds can sound quite dope.

With that said, ive been considering buying a synth... but.... as of right now i think im less interested in getting one for the purpose of laying down basslines over beats and more interested in getting something that will basically let me adjust knobs and stuff to get some weird bass tones and sounds that i can sample and then sequence in that manner.

im a complete noob to the synth game so any advice would be appreciated.

basically im looking for more of a kind of synth noise generator than an instrument to lay down musical basslines over tracks with.

but if theres something that can provide both that would be cool too =D.

hey culp thanks a lot that monotron series looks perfect. i watched some demos those things look really nice!!! =D

i think the monotron or the monotron duo look like theyed be good for me judging by the demos but i cant really seem to find a good description on the main differences between the two. was wondering if you knew more about these 2 synths?

The monotron is less useful than you'd think though. It's pretty tough to get anything out of it other than about three or four 'flavors' of sound.

It does sound okey though, but it's not all that tweakable. Using the oscillator as filter effect on external sound sources does work okey, but all in all it's very limited.

It somewhat reminds me of a D-beam synth on the SP series. A nice gimmick and some will find creative ways to use it, but it's probably too limited for most.

I personally like their new Monotron Delay better:

A bit easier to get creative with I guess.
