haha the german wikipedia says he produced donuts on his mpc3k in hospital. Nothing about this in the english wiki
Re: biggest influence
Here's a bunch of non hip hop/sampling influences & examples.
-Boards of Canada (for the balance of melody, rhythm & tone)
-Kevin Martin, Kode9 & The Spaceape, the Melvins (for the gut instinct)
-Godspeed You! Black Emperor/Silver Mt Zion (for the way instruments move together & sonic layering)
-Low (minimalism & harmony)
-Radiohead (for always pushing themselves)
-Steve Albini (for the most honest sound engineering & recording methods out there & killer opinions. This is the guy.)
Plus a lot of the stuff & people on this forum are really inspiring too. Its kinda competitive, listening to a beat & thinking 'Damn, how'd he do that? I gotta try that!'

Re: biggest influence
i already posted my list but since i enjoyed reading everyone elses reasons behind their influences i wanted to post mine as well
-Kool Keith (for doing different projects under different alias' and just experimenting with different styles and themes in general.)
-Ed Rush & Optical (the guys that made me realize the greatness of synth basslines)
-DJ Premier (For me personally hes like the epitome/standard of what a rap instrumental should be like)
-Bassnectar (as a fan of dnb i used to think "it would be cool if they used those basslines on hip hop beats." Bassnectars sound was close enough and made me want to try it too)
-Mr.Oizo (made me appreciate the awesomeness of lo-fi sound)
-Ras_G (inspired me to get an sp)
-Mr.Dibia$e (inspired me to get an sp)

Re: biggest influence
after going through a bunch of hardware and programs, i have realized that my biggest influences have not been a artist in particular, but the feeling i get from music / photography / art. Most of the time, Music is the last thing that influences me these days. But music influences my everything. Make sense? ha
