Sp-404sx software update?

I was messing around looking to see if the sp 555s where gonna update like the 404s did to new SDHC cards and I ran across a "software" update that the 404sx have available at rolands website. from what I got of the description its to make it more compatible for SDHC cards. Knowing how much a pain it was to find a card that was compatible to reformat for the 404sx and then finding that it had annoying skips when I resampled, I was curious. So I downloaded and tried to install it and im not even sure it installed correctly. What im curious is if anyone else has gone through this process yet and wether it helped both with compatibility and this annoying skipping problem that happens when resampling to make beats/songs.

I still have not found a SDHC card that I can resample a whole beat into one pad without trying to work through samples skipping while rerecording. The only card that doesn't have this problem is the card that came with the sp404sx when I bought it. If anyone has a card that doesn't do this please tell me the speed, brand, and all information you can give. Otherwise, im just wondering if anyone has seen any effect from the update.

I just want to tell you that you can't resample more than 4 voice at a time, witch mean either 2 stereo sample or 4 mono. I was scratching my head off also trying numerous card and it's not card limitation, it's hard limitation.

I figure we' have to buy Roland issued SD Cards??

I'm sort of let down by Roland 404sx.

Please Anyone , get any info you can on how to get a SD card that won't skip. I have the SanDisk 8 GB, Is anyone else using this?

Ok, I did the 1.06 upgrade on My SanDisk 8 GB On to the SX and still no luck.....? I just sampled a 1 minute segment and it is skipping. This is redonkulous.

What are the "specs" on your SD cards that are skipping?

For instance here is one card:
SanDisk Extreme HD Video 16 GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card

Here is another:
SanDisk 4GB SDHC card (the fine print will tell you this is a Class 4 card.)

What are the specs of the original roland card? SD? SDHC? What Class?

Also: Did you let the SP404sx format the card?

Get this and stop buying cheap shit, SX is different from 303 and 404og. Don't be unhappy work with it

I sample full beats into my SP404sx as part of my workflow, so I do it for every beat. I find that if I sample the full beat, it skips, and it keeps skipping until I do it four times in a row, always on the fourth attempt is when it is skip free.

yeah ok i think i figured out that i need a higher mb per second card. i have a 20mb/s and should be using the 'extreme'. ordered off newegg. thanks!
