Whattup sp heads!

My duo THMM just finished our first EP. Turtle Handz on the rhymes and Megamaeng on the beats. Made mostly on the SP303 and SP1200 recorded directly to Record, with the SP404sx used for live performances.

Thanks for listening guys! Here's a video of some rehearsal footage for our live show. Unfortunately you can't see my gear because I just threw the camera down and pressed record. Anyway I split up my instrumental tracks onto either side of a stereo file loaded into the 404sx. I have drums on one side and the rest on the other then feed it to a mixer where I dub it out with aux sends to guitar pedals as well as using the djfx looper. I'll making another video that has some live footage of this which I hope to finish soon.

The beats all sounded well made. The rapper was defiinitely suitable for the instrumentals. Overall IMO its very cohesive and consistantly remains dope through out. nice album guys. =D


was the 2nd higher pitch voice the same guy but with his voice pitch shifted? if so was that done with the voice trans on the sp?

how long did it take you guys to make this?

Sorry I didn't reply for awhile. Still without power since the nor'easter but managing to check out the forums on my phone

The higher pitched voice is still turtle handz. The effect is just the pitch transpose in GarageBand. He records his vocals directly into the built in mic on his laptop then pitches sections afterwards. I was surprised how well it sounded.

We've been making tracks for about three years but most of the tracks on the ep are from the last year and a half. He's my cousin so we see each other often but we do everything via email except rehearsing and live performances.

Unfortunately, I used the album version of the track as audio for clarity sake but hopefully I can put together a video with all the 404 and pedal effects added so you guys can see what I do.
