that's interesting (to me)
I understand what needs to be done in order to get the same results. I figured since I’m going for their sound why not filter through exact same pieces of gear which were the:

◦Sp 303
◦Sp 505
◦Mpc 3000
◦Numark Record
◦PlayerTechniques 1200
Another vital element that had to be brought to the table was work flow. I had to adapt the same work flow/thought process in order to really drill down into the power of these units. If any of you know about these units listed above they are very limited and require you to use your ears more than your eyes. Each sound was recorded from vinyl record and split tested through different chains.

◦ 1200 → Preamp → Sp 303 → Product
◦1200 → Preamp → Sp 505 → Product
◦1200 → Sp 303 → Product
◦1200 → Sp 505 → Product
◦1200 → Preamp → Sp 303 → Mpc 3000 → Product
◦1200 → Preamp → Sp 505 → Mpc 3000 → Product
◦Num → Preamp → Sp 303 → Mpc 3000 → Product
◦Num → Preamp → Sp 505 → Mpc 3000 → Product
(...BY ALKOTA...)
sp303/505 i got them; once tried sp303→akai remix16 for drums because i talked about this procedure with kel (years ago, in a sp battle)...it worked really LOUD i remember...

I wish Russell Elevado and Questlove would make a Dilla drum pack in Electric Lady studio.

First of all, the "interview" was misleading at first. He wasn't a Dilla sound designer, since he started farting around with music around the time Dilla died. It implies one thing, but is actually another. If I learn a Slash guitar solo, am I a Slash guitar tech now?

And your sig? Just saying man... Interview you happen to share...the link. And the interview comes off like an ad (which is linked to sell off the site, lol).

And another thing...if that dude (or you) wants to sell drum kits, you gotta spill a couple free samples or something. Who would blindly pay $25 without hearing a sound? That one soundcloud track had actually kind of weak drums. I aint mad atcha for trying to make a buck in this tough economy...you do what you gotta do. A more honest approach and a better demonstration of the sounds would do wonders for the business, imo. I calls em likes I sees em.

Hey,

I've had this affiliate link in my sig way before the guy did the interview. I thought i was a good interview so i shared. The title in the thread here could have been worded better didn't mean to mislead anyone with it.

I don't get a commission from any sales generated on the alkota site again only linked it because i thought it was informative.

I do see where you're coming from though .. respect
