SP-606 vs. SP-303
I will be selling a bunch of gear soon on ebay but I want to keep one of these SPs. I love the 303 because its a classic and the footprint to 95% of my early tracks and I love the 606 because its an awesome multi-tool like a mini-MV and useful when I do little shows at the city park.
If you can only keep one, which will it be. Really I would keep them both but I need the dough.
On a last note look for me soon on ebay, I'll be selling multitracks, drum machines and samplers. All mint condition, my name is Gojira7. And no, I'm not giving up music, I just want to make music, 9mean?

Yes, the MV is staying and the MS-1 but I'm just gonna keep one SP and sell everything. Most of my weapons hasn't been used since 2009 so I figure to let the next man take a spin with them.
So thats one for the 303.

If you already have an MV then personally I don't see much point in keeping the 606. But then the MV is hardly convenient for taking to shows, it's one of the biggest machines out there. Just seems to me like keeping an MPC1000 when you already have the 4000. But if it does get a lot of live use then maybe you should keep hold of it. But me personally I'd keep the 303.

fuhhhhh-!!!
If I absolutely had to pick one I guess I'd keep the 303 since you have the MV, but the 606 is nice for live stuff like you said... really tough decision lol

606. I had and sold my 303 for a 404. I got the 606later on and I use it for most of my projects now. I wish Roland would make a new and improved 606 but we all know how they do.

Yeah, its tough. I'm so hung over this that I asked a random old lady on the street which one would you keep, she told me to sell the 303 believe it or not.
I mean the 606 has the same features as the 303 but with the 303 I can sample in Lo-Fi which is @11kHz but with the 606 its more of an effect than a setting. Both can resample external audio though.
By Friday I'll decide a final decision.
Re: SP-606 vs. SP-303
606 all day. To me, the 303 is painfully slow to use (coming from a 404 first). If the 303 was a 404 it would be a different story..... Battery powered, more banks and TONS of sample time. If you want a vintage sounding small-ish sized sampler you have lots of choices, then again you already have the ms1
606 has USB, d beam, more pads, more sample time, the "synth" engine, more options, midi out, digital in/out.
Damn, I'd almost trade you my 404 and mc307 for the 606.... Hehehe

(the sp505 got this too-without digital out, indeed-).
but the 606's soundcard feature is (was) a great thing on that machine.
