Sample sustain without holding down the pad

Hi, I've got a question about my 404sx. Most of the preset samples that come with the factory SD card sustain when you use them. For example, the 808-bass on bank A, pad 3 rings out without you having to hold down the pad. I've been having trouble making that happen with my own uploaded samples and I'm just wondering if that is even possible for non-factory samples and if so, how do you do it?

hit the pad you want and make sure gate is turned off for it??? be aware of the loop function too, both are unique to every pad, so just cause you turn it off for one doesn't mean its off for every sample, usually when you sample somethin in fresh it turns on gate and loop automatically, at least i think it does, definitely when resampling, i can't speak for uploading wavs from the card though.....thinking thats what your looking for
