Windows 7 compatibility ?

You can use Oracle VM VirtualBox but I don't think you can have a decent latency via virtualization ....

however the trouble is that i got some other softs that don't run with win7, so i was thinking about this XP mode...
other question OT: if you have those softs (by or not microsoft) do you need a XP code to run them?

No problem
Try setting the installer of the plugins to Xp compability and run it as administrator.Then set any *.exe file to xp compabilty mode and set it to run with administrator's privilege.

If they are vst they require windows...which one did you try and is not running on Win7_64?
I'm also on the same platform with a dualcore...Atom(1.7G) ...only midi stuff and running Reaper!

maybe it's just a misunderstanding. i read somewhere that to run xp mode you need a valid xp code to get the autorisation (so a brand new xp license or something)...but, as you said, this could be solved running xp mode as administrator, right?
for the software "failed" on win7 64 bit:
-virtual dj 2: it can be installed but works very badly; version 4 works cool, but lack of lot of fx + cannot use pc keyboard to assign controls...
-ableton live 8 micro: failed installation

The "big" versions of Win7(ultimate,enterprized) ,have xp mode(virtual pc) for free.For the other editions you can download for free VirtualPC(from Microsoft) or other program such as Oracle VM VirtualBox I mentioned before, and install your WindowsXp with the serial number and be validated (like an original clean installation).

Can someone who has installed the 32 bit drivers on Windows 7 32 bit please outline the steps you have taken?

I have just been through hell to get 32 bit 7 on my system and am now hitting a wall with the install of the drivers.

I'm absolutely broken by this process. Please help.

I think it is finally working.

I want it on record that I shall never purchase another Roland product again.

The stress that this process has put myself and my family through has been tremendous and irredeemable (not that Roland have made any resolution attempt).

Damn, I wish there was a way to help you guys. Roland was a company I grew up on when it came to samplers, so this is disappointing. The MV was the last product I bought from them and it looks final.

They need to reissue the 606 with up to date features. Maschine will be left in the dust.

The Vista 32 bit drivers work for 32 bit Windows 7. There is no way to use the 606 in conjunction with a 64 bit system.

There is no reason to have not issued a 64 bit driver other than to encourage purchases of the 555 or some other future product. Because of this arrogance I will never purchase another Roland product again, retail or otherwise.

$2000 AUD for a SP-606??!!
Thats how much I paid for the MV. I also bought the SP-606 in 2006. I bought it for the hell of it really, for $714 USD. But it came from the states, which I think is better to import than buy local. These guys here wanted $999 USD for a 606 at the time when its $699 retail in the US.

I thought Roland had a good direction with the 606 but then they went backwards with the 555. Something happened during the discontinuation of the 606 and I don't know what. Maybe it contained too much power, after all what sampler can sample off the internet in real time via USB?
