I had that drum groove sitting on my hardrive, and I mangled around with that chord progression for a couple of weeks. Tried some uptempo things but was never happy, so I gave this a try.
recorded the rhodes first, then the bass, and the synth parts, then the vocals (also vocoder). everything was played live, so this took some time as I am a sucky keyboardplayer.
then it was easy: setting up arrangement, glitching drums out, adding percussions, claps and mario fireballs. done!

lots of not too agressive sidechaining going on on this one as well as not too much compression on the 2bus. quite a conservative track I think, haha.
