I just bought this thing like 2 days ago. I have figured out most of this device except if I am able to export Pad Patterns to my card then to PC. I want to import them into NN-XT in reason3.0 and add more stuff to it. I bought this cause I hate chopping samples with recycle and adobe auditon. I would like to Chop up a sample, play it out with Drums on the SP-606, Export the pattern as a .wav to my pc and use Reason to Finish it up. I don't want to have to record Line in and then clean up the sample, then run it through Reason. Let me know if there is a way.
Thanks
Naiso
Is It possible to export the Patterns.

I don't own a 606. But, couldn't you try making the beat/pattern then export the samples(bass, synth, keys whatever) as WAV's once you've chopped em up on the 606. Then just record the drum beat as a line in recording into the cpu. You could make variations of the drums on the sp if you don't wanna chop em up one the cpu. You be left to sequence the beat as you want on the computer then.

Thanks for the response. I have been doing that. Line-in recording on PC into Ableton 6. I just figured it would have been easier to record the pattern, then record the song from pattern, after export the song to wav. Or even better would be to take the pattern, each track as a separate wav, and then export the loops so I don't have to chop up in Audition or Ableton. They are just as I recorded them. And the P-606 and Kinetic 2 software are garbage. They just play pre-made loops and there is no chop feature like Mike Akosta had mentioned in one of the videos. You can do nothing with software. Reason and Ableton are the greatest combo. I just figured that the SP-606 would take some time off my creations. Guess not. Any other ideas? Please leave them here. Thanks Again.
I wish you could export patterns for one reason only: when we are using the 2 606s together it would be nice to transfer patterns from one to the other just by saving them to the card like samples. Other than that, it's extremely easy to record the separate tracks of a pattern just by muting the tracks and recording your noodlings that way.
P606 is only as good as what you put in - the presets suck, but don't ALL presets suck? It can play back any sound you put into it, with any vst effect you apply - so it's limitless really. And the sp works great as a control surface for it. And why chop on the computer when the 606 does such a good job? Personally I think the abelton/reason combo sucks for two reasons: 1 everybody's got them, so it's hard to do things differently to everyone else (one more abelton psytrance track and I'll kill someone) and 2 they suck live. Who wants to see some dude with a computer on stage? That's what we got 606s for in the first place and we've been blowin abelton jockeys out of the club for 18 months now...

naiso for you to record anything patterns or song's you make with the sp-606 you have 2 (3) choice's . 1. Is going and get you an interface that connect's to you're pcu . 2 Is get another sampler to record it as a sample and add in the effect also . ( Opps there's another choice too I forgot ) . 3 Is don't record using the 606 but use the p-606 . Sorrie if this don't help
( . But I also made a beat ( song ) using the unit and I couldn't record it so my friend's could hear my tune . So I went and got a Tascam and the unit ( or anything else ) run into the Tascam and into Cubase . But a cheaper way would see if you can use the soundcard from you're cpu and use window's recorder
) . Then transfere them into the program's you want to use it in . Well hope this help's you out . Remember the groove that moves U !!!!

so, if i am hearing you guys correctly, all the CF Card can do is bring samples IN to the sp-606...
I guess when I'm done with my patterns\songs on the sp, it's time to DIGITAL OUT them INTO my MBOX 2...
It's probably better to RECORD the SP's output anyway as opposed to downsampling the output in a .WAV file...
At least, that's what it seems like...

You can export sounds via card too. To go back to the original poster's query, I would 1 - chop the sample...2 - export it to the card and 3 - import the slices to NNXT. easy as.
If you have digitla in on your M-Box then, yes, digital is the best way to go (24 bit instead of 16). If you don't have digital connections, then exporting is the way to go, as the analogue outs are supposedly noisy. I say 'supposedly' because I, personally, have not noticed any noise from the analogue outs, since I run another synth through the 606 to record with the 606's effects. So long as what you are recording is LOUD, you won't notice any noise (high signal to noise ratio!).
