in all seriousness, people are probably moving on to other gear. I still love my sp's but companies like roland and korg don't listen. however smaller companies and software developers do. If I want something on ableton, my guess is they might actually give it a try. If I want something on the new octatrack, again it might happen. when did sp (or microsampler) users get an upgrade?
plus, there are sooooooooooo many decent apps and cheap soft these days that are easy to use and have like 0.01 latency (afaik). I can't wait for the new sp but it will still be limited in some way so as to support (destroy) future sales of alternate items, right?

I don't post as much for reasons like tim and jeff outlined. But I still care a lot about the forum and the music / musicians on here, so i check in every so often.

True, I haven't been on here for awhile as well, checking in only once a month or so :/ I still favor this forum over every other one but as much as it sucks to say that, I just don't have the time to devote myself to making music these days :(
I'm even selling my SP cause I haven't touched it for like half a year or so and I'm pretty broke right now D: But I'll never stop making music completely and when I do have time to spend on producing again, I'll definitely buy a sampler again, it's just so much fun to work with. Won't leave the forum as well :D

I still check this every week, and the SP-Forum soundcloud is kinda active. I'm the least active dude ever, I never post any shit.

404SX is still my main piece of gear, and I listen to alot of music I found here.

I have been checking the forum periodically. Got out of the habit of posting regularly when I went on tour back in July/Aug, since then I have been focusing on some emceeing projects. Basically stopped making beats for the meantime...I'll log on more often to see what people have been up to and share some of the new stuff. Hope all the sp-forums homies are doing well

I've been coming through here every 3-4 days or so to mainly to check my mail- i'm collabing with a few cats on the boards on my upcoming stuff..also to do a quick check of the production techniques section and 404 tips & tricks...tonight i stopped by this thread. so- @ tim- i appreciate that man-but if you truly believe what i wrote above is the most positive thing i've posted on these boards, lol, you really haven't paid much attention or have just chose to see things how u wanna see them...its not a huge deal,at the same time i don't like being stigmitized as a member who "came out of the woodwork" just to start some shit...i've posted dozens upon dozens upon more dozens of times in all sections of this site-from trying to give people advice,to providing mad samples for battles,(and working with count to get the sps series off the ground)to just letting people on the music boards know how much i dig their shit-since late '07.I'll be the first to admit there's been a few times where i've come off as completely irrational-but what can i say-i'm extremely bi-polar-in the literal sense-and if i'm not careful my mind can temporarrilly get away from me in some ways.the few times thats happened though,i've always made a point to reach out to all involved when i come back to my senses.Honestly the internet can tend to overstimulate my mind at times, which is why now i'm trying to limit myself with certain things. that being said-the infamous kanye thread would not be one of those times-mad people were involved in that thread-i just happened to be one of the few that thinks the dude should be respected for not only his music and continuing to remain true to hip hop(regardless of how out there some of his music and his personality can get)--but also for his fearlessness in being THE most outspoken of commercially successful artists when it comes to social and political issues. This is a big deal to me-because music, and the type of music i do personally-is about much more than just the music-but the messages and movement behind it.Just wanted to make that clear...and make it clear that i not only have a long history on this site-but mad love for it as well-which is why i'm taking the time to write this, and be so open..

anyway,In the big picture,i'm still relatively inexperienced when it comes to production/beatmaking-always been more of an mc and have rhymed forever-but when it comes to beats-if it wasn't for this site and mad people on this site,i wouldn't have been able to progress to where i'm at now,or have nearly the ammount of knowledge i have now..Again though-i appreciate the words...and i'm really looking forward to sharing my new work with all of you in a few months or so.....peace to all......11
