Always knew he played drums, just never saw him do it. Definitely inspirational.

His drumming here sounds way better than where I've heard it elsewhere (the Otis Jackson Trio 'Jewelz' EP). Couldn't help noticed who produced the video too... Good find!

Lots of people play drums, hell JMJ was an awesome drummer. I didn't find anything that "wowed" me about this. Or is it just cus it's Madlib?

I was waiting for that response. Yes im dick riding and yes its because its madlib. Nothing amazing about the video here, just never saw him actually playing. If i found a video of MF doom playing the piano id post that too even though there are many great piano players. Find me a video of JMJ playing the drums, but make sure it "wows" me otherwise dont post it.

Chill bud, wasnt trying to be a dick. I suppose it looks that way though. It takes a lot for me to be impressed by Madlib so I tend to comment in such a manner when he is brought up in here.

No problem. I thought we were in a sarcasm joust. And like i said, i knew someone who is fed up with all the Madlib hype would respond the way you did. So i came prepared. But to each his own, I enjoy listening to his music and im always curious to find out which producers actually play actual instruments and not just keyboards.
That dude does carry a big hype tho. But my "Fan" stage came a went a long time ago. I just enjoy seeing producers do what they do.

Cool, I should have thought it out b4 typing to avoid confusion. I used to be a huge fan of Madlib but some of his latest shit really disappointed me. I do however love what he did with strong arm steady.

I feel the same way. I guess you cant love him forever. Same for Dj Shadow, used to play his shit all the time then i just stopped listening, wasn't grooving the same to it. I guess thats a good thing because if he kept making the same shit forever, id probably stop listening anyways. Now its open to the newer generation. But i do miss shit like "Introducing" where you put on an album and it feels like it takes you away then drops you off when its done. Not too many albums make me feel like that. And the quality on Cd felt like a record. Now, all the artist i listen to sounds like they are in a competition to be the most original, its hard to explain. I dont really feel the passion in this digital age, maybe its all been compressed to shit.

Man...DJ Shadow has fallen off so bad. Its as if he doesn't know why people liked him in the first place.

I haven't heard any of his latest stuff. Last I read he stopped using the MPC for a DAW and gave up on sampling all together.
