what's your live show inspirations, rules, nuances, etc, etc..?

and I'm gonna play my homemade diddley bow, amped out into the 404 w delay.

My inspiration is somewhere inbetween Rude 66 and RandomXS.
Rules ??? There are no rules Just do whatever you like.

^thanks for that, in all honesty though, you must be trying to be funny. there are obviously rules, right? now my set didn't follow any rules (did you watch that, how was it?). However when it comes to music no-nos like feedback, stopping the music and looking lost, or lost levels those are real. I was really looking for inspiration, which i didn't get but i fucking rocked anyway. and will do again.

What i meant is that you have to do whatever *you* like. If the audience see that you don't like it what you do, they never follow.

That reminds me of a set I saw Dave Clark doing a while back. Having 3 synths on-stage and just pressing (and holding) 1 key per song.

As far as rules, keeping it "live" and keeping it "together" are the only two really. I like what you did with bringing the different loops in and out, with the SP that's probably the best way to keep a full live set going. I want to do more live playing with my own set but I'm bringing in other samplers so that I'll have enough pads and memory for a full 45 minutes to an hour of sound.

Drawing inspiration from good dj sets (especially old biz like Kool Herc and Grandmaster Flash) or even live bands shows could help. Having some room in your set for improv (drum soloooooo) is a def plus to amp the crowd.

Flashy lights don't hurt either.

I can't take credit for the flashy lights. i may start pressing a button and let it go myself. the audience here doesn't seem to care, plus my sets will be more on spot and i can load longer loops. proabaly next show will be with 16 bars instead of two and four and i'll have them in patterns with more synth sounds.
also want to do more drum solos. i actually did one but it was only soso.
my newest rule: never stop when you fuck-up, most people don't notice. i dropped the beat like three times but just picked it back up and it was like 'yo, i meant to do that'
